Signs of Recovery Amid Challenging Conditions.

The latest figures from Guatemala’s National Association of Cardamom Producers and Exporters show a modest recovery in production for the 2025–2026 season. Total output is estimated at 16,549 metric tons, reflecting a 17% increasecompared to the previous harvest.

As of June 17, 2025, the Vietnamese black pepper market has experienced a sharp correction. Prices have dropped to 127,000 VND per kilogram, representing a 7.3% decline this week and a total decrease of 11.8% over the past two weeks from a recent high of 144,000 VND. This marks the steepest short-term drop in recent years and has exceeded most market expectations.

The new garlic crop in China has started to enter the market. However, due to high moisture levels, dehydration processing has not yet begun. The first batches of properly dried garlic are expected to become available in about two weeks.
